• Detention roundtable: Discussion of detention reviews, with a focus on raising BIOC and mental health issues before the ID

Our conference locations will once again be connected together by videoconference, with in-person presenters at all four locations.

• Montreal: Issues relating to the gender and sexual identities of claimants
  Montréal: les identitées sexuelles et de genres des demandeurs d'asile
  • Speakers / Conférenciers: Me Sebastien Boudreault & Nathalie Ricard (doctorante en anthropologie)
     
• Toronto:  Beyond refugee claims and H&Cs: screening for other immigration options (1 Professionalism Hour) -  This presentation is intended for lawyers whose practice is focused on refugee and humanitarian cases. It will discuss best practices for identifying other immigration options by providing an overview of Canadian immigration programs, offering practical screening tools to identify where clients may have other immigration options they should explore with experienced immigration counsel, and working through scenarios with the audience.

CPD ACCREDITATION: CARL is currently pursuing CPD accreditation for this conference with the governing provincial law societies in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. CPD details will be announced as they are determined.
