CARL encourages you to get involved in the upcoming federal election!

August 22, 2015

In the lead up to voting day October 19th, CARL will be actively participating in the federal election campaign by sharing the facts on the Conservative government’s harmful changes to Canada’s citizenship, immigration, and refugee policies.  We have prepared a summary of the key problems with these changes, available in:

A more detailed position paper on the Family Reunification Program changes can be found hereA more detailed position paper on the Citizenship Act changes can be found here.

CARL will also be undertaking a number of initiatives to promote fair and rationale citizenship, immigration, and refugee policies as well as civil dialogue on these issues.  Our initiatives include speaking to candidates, engaging with journalists and writing articles for newspapers, sharing information via social media, and supporting other like-minded advocates for refugees and newcomers in their efforts.

We urge you to get involved. In September, we will be sending all CARL members an eelction tool kit with tips on participating in the election campaign in your community.
